Spring 2012 Soccer Registration.  

Once again it is time to register for Spring soccer!  On-Line Registrations will be taken beginning October25,2011 and  ending November 26,2011. Any travel team U9 through U14 registrations completed after November 26,2011 will be accepted only if space is available and will be subject to a $25 non-refundable late fee. PRE K  through   U8 registration will remain open until season start.   There is no late fee for pre-K, K thru U8.  Teams will be formed based on the number of players registered on this date. Age groups will close as teams are filled. There is no guarantee of space on a travel team after the late date.   Follow the Registration link for instructions, Registration fee is $100 of which $20 per child goes to the Town of Southboro for a user fee information .  You can only register on line. Spring 2012 Season

SYSA anounces 2012 Spring Season begins on Saturday, April 7 for U-9 - U-14 and ends on June 9 (10 games).  Parents should receive calls no later than one week prior to season start for Practice and Game schedules.

 Travel team information, results and rules can be found on the Bays web site.   Use the  following links to Bays rules , Bays standings for current information. Contact information for In- town and travel team coaches and age group coordinators can be obtained from the Age group link. Coaches are reminded of their "to do" list:

  • Travel coaches, For each scheduled away game, Call the opposing coach in your section to confirm game times and fields.
  • Bays Reschedule responsibility, For U-14 and below, the game must be rescheduled to be played within two weeks after the original scheduled date (season weeks 1 to 8), within one week after week 9, or by Monday after week 10.  This rescheduling must be agreed to by both coaches and approved by the division director no later than 9:00 PM of the Wednesday after (season weeks 1 to 9), or the Sunday of (10th week) the original scheduled weekend. If the two coaches cannot agree on a date, time and site certain by the indicated deadline, the division director will select a date, time and site that is feasible for both teams, and that will become the rescheduled date.

  • Be sure to verify up to date Game information including Field and Coach Schedules at Bayschedule Link.
  • The policy on use of fields during rain is set by the Town Recreation dept. Each coach is instructed to call the Rec. hot line at 508-485-0710, Press 8 for Special Announcements. Coaches must notify parents and opposing coach 1 hour prior to the scheduled start of a game cancellation. If during the game, the field becomes saturated with standing water, it is the responsibility of the coach and referee to use common sense to ensure child safety and call the game.

Evaluation days

Southborough Youth Soccer will be running evaluation days in order to place current U8 (2nd grade) through current U13 players (7th grade) on teams for the Fall Season:
current U8          BOYS 5:00-6:30pm GIRLS 6:30-8pm / Thursday May 24 and Thursday May 31 at Fay Parkerville Rd fields
current U9          GIRLS 5:00-6:30pm BOYS 6:30-8pm / Tuesday June 5 at Fay Parkerville Rd fields
current U10       BOYS 5:00-6:30pm GIRLS 6:30-8pm / Tuesday May 29  at Fay Parkerville Rd fields
current U11        GIRLS 6:30-8pm / Monday June 4  at Neary Outfield
                            BOYS 6:30-8pm / Wednesday June 6 at Neary Outfield
current U12/13  BOYS 6:30-8pm / Friday June 1 at Neary Outfield
                           GIRLS 6:30-8pm / Monday June 11  at Neary Outfield

Please note:
1. Players are stratified based on ability beginning U9, 3rd grade and continuing through U14.
2. Players are adjusted season to season based on continuing changes in their ability.
3. Players should come to both night evalautions if there are two for your age group.
4.SYSA has tried to factor in other sports in selecting a night for a particular age evaluation
5.These evaluations are ONE PIECE of information which goes into the player placement along with coach evaluations, age group coordinator recommendation and travel director/board member imputs.
6.Players should especially try to attend these evaluations if they are not playing spring soccer as this will be most current information SYSA will have about a player.
7.All players should bring a soccer ball to evaluation night and be dressed to play soccer, uniforms need not be worn.
